This site uses the key indexing words, "Magazines and E-zines" if one wants to see the titles of all the online serials listed on SPORTquest. Most of the titles listed are sport-specific serials meant for the general audience. However, recently your editor has tracked down a number of academic, refereed e-journals, many of which are about to publish or have a number of issues out already. 1998- Description of Content: Refereed articles will be in French
or English, on topics in applied sport psychology. Authors
are to use PDF format for multimedia elements and abstracts
must be provided. ---------------------------------------------------------- SOSOL: sociology of sport online v1, no1, Jan 1998- Description of Contents: A refereed e-journal of theoretical
and empirical papers on research concepts and theory relating
to the sociological examination of sport, physical education
and coaching. Also included will be a section for student
research papers. --------------------------------------------------------- Working Papers in Sport and Leisure Commerce,no 1,
Apr 1996- Description of Contents: The purpose of this monographic
serial is to provide an outlet for scholarly works in progress
that contribute to the improved understanding of the cultural
and material reproduction, promotion, and consumption of sport
and leisure in the urban context. It is expected that this
series of Working Papers will cultivate critical, extra-disciplinary
analysis that will reflect a wide range of research modalities.

items about Division governance as well as APA governance,
and convention news. In the Fall 1997 issue are the following

and exercise psychology: a symbiotic relationship between

information services including job postings, division project,

the editor. Intends to maintain a clearinghouse of scientific
research about the game of basketball and especially to teach
mathematics/statistical methods to elementary to high school

There are 4 fulltext essays intended for use by students, sports researchers, and teachers on the topics of: Gender and Sport, The Commercialisation of Sport, The Globalization of Sport, Sport and the Mass Media (this essay was not accessible when checked on January 22, 1998). National Library of Canada ResAnet, the National Library of Canada's web-based database, has a new website address: www.amicus.nlc-bnc.ca/wapp/resanet/introe.htm. ResAnet, a subset of NLC's Amicus database (which is used by cataloguers) gives the brief bibliographic record and includes the features: hypertext links to related works and subject heading; ability to sort results sets by title, author or date; keyword search functionality and capacity to limit searches by date, language, place of publication or type of material. National Library of Australia The catalogue of the NLA is available via two methods: janus.nla.gov.au (no login required) and via the web: ilms.nla.gov.au/webpac. This user-friendly catalogue can be searched by author, title and subject, with options to sort results by date (in descending order), and view brief or full records. Library of Congress The Catalog of the Library of Congress is available via the web: lcweb.loc.gov/catalog. On their main page, read the instructions carefully for while the author/title search is very simple, the other access points (subjects, names, series, notes and various numbers) are more complex and include a boolean capability. Also note the hours the catalog is available. From their home page also one can also go to their Publications page, see the Information for Publishers, Standards, News and Events etc. British Library Blaise is The British Library's Automated Information Service which provides access to 21 databases containing over 18.5 million bibliographic records available for those institutions with subscriptions to this online service. Free access is available via their OPAC '97 service where one can search to the catalogues of the major British Library collections in London and the Document Supply Centre at Boston Spa (http://opac97.bl.uk). In addition, through the main British Library site, is access to Gabriel, the WWW server for Europe's National Libraries represented in the Conference of European National Libraries.
